Subject: Poor mans section control on a JD 1900 commodity cart

West Central Indiana
I have a 30' 2001 1900/1860 air seeder. Two of my biggest complaints with it are the switch mounted on the rockshaft to shut the master clutch on and off and the lack of a 1/2 width disconnect from the cab.

I wired my own switch into the armrest of my tractor years ago for the master clutch so I could shut seed flow on and off independently of the rockshaft position.

I was wondering if I could add a rate controller to my air cart and set it up so the front tank seeds the left half of the machine and the rear tank seeds the right half. That way on angled point rows and long point rows on long sides of the field I could save a little seed and have less lodging.
Is there any harm in wiring the individual tank clutches to toggle on and off all the time vs. the master clutch?

1. Will this work?
2. Any special wiring harness I would need to make it work?

Thanks.
