Rake one mower swath onto another. The objective here is to dry the ground laid bare as much as it is to dry the hay.
Now, on day 3 or 4, you have dry ground on which to rake two mower passes together.
I've never cared for the idea of full width swaths behind my 9 foot haybines. Always prefer about 40-50% exposed ground and swaths no wider than can be straddled by the raking tractor. | |
