We are seeing a lot of that in our green snap corn as well. All mine was around 7 to 10 leaf when the storm hit. Now almost every one has a new plant growing out and is already about 5 leaf . I also doubt they put an ear on but the agronomist said he thinks they will have a good chance to produce in the areas where there was a lot of snap and the new plants don’t have much competition around.
I’ve marked a bunch of areas in mine to watch over the summer to see if they will produce or not. It will be interesting. I’m surprised I haven’t read much on here about that storm unless I’ve just missed the post somehow. Took the top end potential off of a lot of corn acres right thru the center of the state. I know my wind claim load is crazy right now and every other adjuster I know in this area is swamped as well.
We got the storm in so IL as all and never seen green snap this bad. |
