Central Missouri | I have about 20 fall calves in my weaning pen right now all have been eating the same since they were born, about half are completely slick. I don’t think feed has much to do with it, maybe some but it’s mostly genetics. I bought a really nice “fescue adapted” bull from a very well known breeder that always had a heavy coat, great bull, great temperament, just heavy on the hair. I kept several heifers out of him, most slick off as yearlings. | |
