For corn, we are placing 60-70 lb of actual N in a band 2" to the side of the row and about 3/4" deeper than the seed with a fertilizer opener, along with 20-25lb of P205 and 1QT Zinc.
At V4-6 we then either broadcast the balance as a mix of ESN and Urea (with Agrotain if there is no chance of rain), or dribble 28/32% between the rows. Y-drops would be better, but we don't have them.
