| If youre hauling to your own bins, make sure you get a trailer with an ag hopper so it will clear a swing hopper on an auger.
Also if your swing hopper doesnt have some type of hopper mover with remote, put one on it. That way as you pull up next to the auger to unload you can swing the hopper under the truck with the remote as you are moving. Otherwise you will be getting in and out of the truck a LOT while you try to get the hopper under the trailer.
The first year I had a 30 ft trailer with no hopper walker and I had to get in and out of the truck twice to get the auger under the truck, then after unloading had to get in and out twice more to get the hopper out from under the truck to get back to the field. It made for a LONG day.
I dont regret switching to semi's. but wouldnt do it without some sort of remote controled hopper mover, unless all you do is haul to an elevator | |
