Rye will, but we have had less than good experience with it in the spring trying to get a stand of corn.
Wheat or oats have worked fine for us, flying it on in standing corn or beans, or just spreading it after harvest with a standard fertilizer buggy.
Late spread wheat (Thanksgiving time) doesn't show much during the winter, but its there, and comes on good in the early spring.
