I worked years on freeze driers for a pham company. Part of our PM every six months on the compressors was to meg out the motors and wiring. These were 30 HP and 50 HP compressors. We also meg out all of our cooling tower motors some were 100 HP. I never saw once in the fifteen years I was there that the megor showed a motor that was starting to fail and we had plenty that did. We had a Flute I can't remember the model number.
