Anyone ever repair an air bar tube?
Last fall I bent mine about in the middle. I straightened it back out and duct taped the resulting cracks to finish the beans. One nozzle is totally scrapped, but a new one wouldn't work as the tube is rippled and cracked right at the nozzle hole. I was thinking cut out the bad spot and weld in small section of good tube, but I know nothing about aluminum welding, and maybe by the time I buy a spool of aluminum wire, I should just replace. My other thought would be like a sleeve clamp like for auger tubes. Either way I'd have to also drill a new hole for a new nozzle.
AWS told me to buy new tube, probably will, just checking for possible alternatives.
Anyone have a used tube for a 620F?
When we got the 620F we moved the system from a 920. Had to get a new tube as it was slightly different. The old tube sat around for a while, told dealer we had it if they ever have someone that might need it, until Dad went on a scrapping spree.
Check with your Aws dealer, AWS has seen lots of things over the years and they might very well have a reasonable good fix in their system. I had a customer wear out the end on one in abrasive soils and they had a fix for that that surprised me. |
