Faunsdale, AL | We were certified for about 10 years. Had very few kids in our home during most of that time. There seemed to be a tendency for our county to place children with the foster parents who could really benefit financially from the stipend from the state. We would get kids for a few days, week at the most, so we did very little foster care during most of that time.
Finally got an infant and wound up adopting him after 3 years. His family just never got their act together to get custody of him. Once we adopted him, we were no longer certified as foster parents and really had had about enough of the county DHR anyway. | |
