I’m not an expert, but I’ve done my fair share. Using a man-lift of some kind will speed things up as will a grout bag so you can squeeze the mortar into the joints. It seems like there’s a bonding agent to mix in the mortar as well. As said above, it’s time consuming but well worth it to keep your barn in good shape.
