| MaineFarmer - 6/27/2022 03:07 It may depend on miles of travel needed. If its close to home to travel than perhaps a simpler ride,,if its lots of traveling maybe a newer unit. The total cost per mile can be figured with any interest and cost.
Granted, we did this at the depths of the Rona, so prices were rather discounted compared to now, but.....
Two years ago, we found my better half a 2004 Toyota Camry with no rust and moderate miles for $4,000 cash so she would have a cheap car to burn work miles on. She goes 25 miles each way every day, plus it often sees another hundred miles a week running kids around, going for groceries, etc. We have done nothing to it except tires, brakes, lube jobs, and maybe once charged the AC. It's never been stranded on the side of the road or spent the night at anybody else's shop. I'd not hesitate to get in it tomorrow and head to Arizona or Maine. Tags and insurance are dirt cheap too. Reliability doesn't require a big price tag and a big interest rate.... |
