I've had rtk for a long time and finally gave up on my mojortk stuff. The paradyme is pretty stable - at least for me. I have used it on my sprayer (hagie - waas) with good results and this spring on my planting tractor (with digifarm). I have at least one extra paradyme (waas) and it would be nice to have an rtk unlocked paradyme spare.
As for upgrading, it's pretty steep money wise. the 7500 isn't super expensive, but the steer command is pretty spendy (to me). As long as the paradyme works pretty good for me (small grain farmer, medium size hog guy), I think it is the most cost effective.
I hear what you are saying and if you are definitely going to stick with the paradyme then buy one with it already unlocked. Last i checked it was 5000 or so to unlock one and i do not know if it can still be done or not. Used ones can be found for 2-3000 already unlocked, so you can probably buy two for what is will cost you.
But when something happens and it quits working you will have a $3000 yard ornament. At some time you have to suck it up and move into newer electronic equipment, Just have to decide if you want to do it on your own or be forced into it lol. |
