I have a 7499 Massey pulling a 750 j and m grain cart. The Massey has an 1 1/4 hitch pin but the j and m has a 1 1/2 hole size i believe. So there is alot of slop and when full can make you nervous. What is a solution here? I thought about upgrading drawbars, but it appears the next series up in agco has an 1 1/4 hole as well or actually its 30mm i believe.

We have a J&M 750 cart. It has a 2 3/8" hole in the hitch, IIRC. We pull the cart with a 4640 Deere which has a 1 7/16" inch drawbar hole. The 4640 drawbar hole has a little wear, so we are able to run a 1 1/2" pin, but it's pretty tight. (Had to ream the sides of the drawbar hole a little to get the 1 1/2" pin to fit) We run J&M 1 1/2" bushings in the hitch to take up the excess slack. (The 1 1/2" bushings fit the hitch pin, the slack is between the bushings and the cart hitch holes.)

If we wanted it looser, we could run a 1 1/4" pin and 1 1/4" bushings. Or looser yet, just run a 1 1/4" pin in the 1 1/2" bushings we are using now.

You can get bushings from your J&M Dealer. They offer either 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" bushings.
