Pontiac, IL. | A few years ago I rented a 6 wheel drive Deere blade from a local construction company, to do just what you are wanting to do. (I previously worked for same company, and had many hours of running blade). If you have a lot to move it takes a little time. The blade (self propelled grader) is best for finishing. Can really do a nice job. As previously said, sod is no problem if you are an experienced blade operator. (make sure it has been mowed, and not long and stringy. IF NOT EXPERIENCED: be careful not to get the blade into the tires when articulating the machine OR the circle. A tire can be cut (ruined) in short order. | |
