Yep some machines are just that way. Called it as he saw it.

Size scale of job needing done matters when deciding what/if to charge your neighbor. Also, how much you have to give without jeopardizing your own operation. Size and scale of operations tends to get larger as you go west, so I’m going to guess it’s not like a 20-40 acre patch that’s common in an I State. Might be two weeks or more worth of baling, he doesn’t say.

If it’s a one day deal, just help your neighbors out while he’s laid up, you will need help sometime and be glad when it’s offered. If it’s going to be a sizable job taking multiple days, at least get the cash expenses covered(fuel, wrap, repairs).
