| I need to quit posting because I'm far from an expert, but I sure think you are looking for a BLR. They nearly perfect for saddle scabbard (even with a scope) or plane scabbard (for tactical air support). I can see the appeal of the pump, maybe I'm wrong but I don't think it be any faster or more reliable than the lever (blr is a bolt gun with a lever). Mine is the old pre-81, detachable magazine which was really handy for reloading in a plane (in case all the bullets fell out, because I don't think you can shoot stuff from a plane...), great short and light rifle, the original (I don't know about new ones) open sights are a good set up too, but hard to run both open sights and a scope I think (dad tried it in the 80's, didn't like it). | |
