this is just what the gun at the gun store claims. He claims they made .223 legal to hunt deer in iowa so they could claim its a hunting rifle, and therefore would make it more difficult for the government to regulate those guns. Not sure if i believe it. but may be true. Ok, so the intent of not allowing rifles for half a century was safety. Until now, most, not all,allowed rifle selections, would not be deemed long range. It’s starting get out of hand now.
