What is the point of this? Why would you own a business and not run it yourself?
I’ll run it when I can, but if you have someone who will help you do it why not?
Trucking isn't something to 'run it when you can'. If you don't have time don't get involved, it won't end well. Why have the financial risk, the legal risk and turn it over to someone else?
Either be involved and run it like you own it or don't waste your time. I'm trying to think of a business that someone around here owns but doesn't run. Hardware store, barber shop, HVAC, mechanic shop, diner, trucking companies...the owner is involved in the ones that make it.
