South Central MN | Looks like some sort of disease killing that one. Spruce are dying around here as well, it being more warm and humid in the summer is causing them more stress than in the past.
Scots pine usually die to pine wilt or something like that which is nematodes that are affecting the sap flow inside the tree and causing it to dry up and die. It is hitting very hard around here now and likely won't be any of those trees left within 5 years. They are transmitted by beetles. | |
