| Played in college in the 80s. The key thing is to learn to wrap tackle, not collision tackle. Collisions without pads are more likely to cause injuries. It is a continuous game like soccer rather than run a play, huddle and run another play. Conditioning is important - size and mass matters a lot less than in football. Finesse is the key. Was hard to watch football for a few years after playing. Great game and lots of beer after the game. We weren't officially sponsored by the university, so we had a keg on the sideline. I think that part may have gone by the wayside a few years after I graduated. Great times traveling as a club team and the friendships made were the best parts of it. | |
