I would recommend the movie Invictus for an introduction to this Marvelous sport. The conessors call IT a thug's game plates by gentlemen.
Another vote here for Invictus. Great movie. I heard another part of that description: I think it was soccer, but possibly cricket, that was a gentleman's game played by hooligans.
At one point when I was in college they decided to ban tackle football (we'd been playing without pads or helmets, and there was no budget for any). Some guys tried to get rugby going. It's a good game, the basics are simple but I didn't stick with it long enough to grasp the finer points. |
