South Central MN | I have an implant in my front right tooth. Chipped it badly as a kid and eventually needed the tooth pulled. Biggest thing that took some getting used to was that the tooth doesn't have any cushion to it like regular teeth. Can't remember what it's called, but real teeth have some tissue that cushion them a tiny bit. The implant doesn't have that, so when you first start eating with it, it feels like you're chewing directly with your jawbone in that one spot. Eventually you get used to it and don't notice it anymore, but it's weird for a while. Not painful, just weird. | |
