Roe v. Wade was never adjudicated by "the will of the people." Roe v. Wade was created out of a fraud upon the court by the justices of the time.

In lower courts, when a judge discovers a fraud upon the court, they have the power to utterly vacate any decision/judgement handed down by their court based on that fraud. The SCOTUS could (and should) have vacated Roe v. Wade in the 1980's when the truth came to light. Vacating decisions as a result of frauds upon the court is how a judge/court tells lawyers "don't lie in my court, or else."
