That is probably a custom made 2 row planter. Assuming that that one is yours (unless it’s just a similar picture) the planter in the picture has down pressure springs. The trouble is most 3 point hitches apply no down pressure and 4’ of 7x7 steel tubing does not weigh much. You need to add weight to the frame tube so there is weight there that can be transferred to the row units by the down pressure springs. If it were mine. I would weld a plate over the end, tip the planter on its side and fill the tube with cement. Then I would weld a cap on the other end. Welding caps would just be for looks. You could just fill it with cement if you don’t care.


I figured it would add 160 pounds to the tool bar.You all think this would be enough or need more weight than that..but I guess I would have to try it and see..But once it is cemented it is there for good..
