Subject: Adding weight to a conventional till planter

Got a 7100 2 row finger pickup planter.. Can I add weight to it to make a no till and if possible how much weight would be idea without busting up the planter.. My soil is hard packed but not clay.. I figured I could wait till after a rain to plant also.. I can plant in the field about 3/4 to an inch with no rain. Would like to get the seed down to 2 inches.. This is a new planter so the openers are sharp and no wear at all.. I did till about an acre up and planted but would like to try without haveing to disturb the surface.. Thanks all.. Dan
