NC KS | Your mechanic is referring the linkage on top of tranny. It is barely visible from behind right rear tire or in front of right rear tire. Should see a chrome pin with a yoke on it. Yoke goes tight to housing with park off. Dirt buildup holds yoke up too high to release. That should go up and down. I had to put a new cable on 1 of my tractors this spring. The switch itself is on side of tranny on right side behind the hydraulic valves. They can go bad also. I would not jump it though. If jumped, tractor can move while in park which busts the park pawl.
All of this assumes that it is not moving because tractor thinks park lock is on. | |
