If you want something that will root deep, sunnhemp is your friend. It loves heat, but can get very tall and unruly. It might shade out your radishes, but it has a very deep root system. This was planted when wheat came off in '18 and let it go. This pic looks to be taken on Oct 28 of that year. It does not help much with erosion control, but it loves heat and dry. Here, I was trying to drill C.Rye into it for a fall cc, did not work out. I found out why they make rope out of it's cousin.
