Subject: RE: Baler recommendations

SW Nebraska Panhandle

Switched from a New Holland to a JD 567 with megawide and net 4 years ago.   Light years better baler.  We have had some issues with it but all minor.  Like all balers they have a personality and some days they just don't want to go to work but for the most part it has been a good baler.  There are other threads on Agtalk talk about issues with the 567 and similar JD balers.  Good source for good info.   There was a Youtube video of a JD factory specialist showing the little tricks with the JD baler and that helped a lot.  Can't find it right now.  The most important thing is connecting the monitor directly to the battery with GOOD connections.  Had an issue the other day and all the connections looked great.  Finally traced it to the battery post needed cleaning.  Looked good but was not quite good enough.  We only bale 300 - 400 bales per year and having our own baler means we can bale when the hay is ready and that is important.
