I bid on old JD 1000 spring-tooth really cheap. Missing a few shank/spring units. I set for 9” few areas on end of wings. I was surprised how well they did. Cornstalks plug two areas on main? Zip one off, adjust other rows.
I am measuring it for 6-8” spacing. So each row instead of max 18” will be 19-24” max.
Really reduced plugging.
Did some soybean stubble. Set up nice for planting. I want a disk/springtooth. Like JD 724. But I didn’t do near as much disc. Biggest issue rubber spacers in drag shot. So drag dug too much.
