Mazon, IL | May have gotten myself removed from the subject committee. I asked back in April before our annual meeting what the relationship was between the approved assessment and equalized assessed value. Currently varies between 35-50%. Also asked what the cap was supposed to be.
At our meeting 2 weeks ago the assessor could not answer my questions because she didn’t ask further up the chain. Now she is telling me to ask Farm Bureau for answers. I’m sorry but FB is a lobbyist and can’t give me the legal answers.
I was less than pleased and told her she works for me, a taxpayer, and a member of the committee and expected her to do her homework. That didn’t go well. She thinks she works for the county, not the taxpayers. | |
