If you want to detour from the national parks, you could hit Palouse Falls state park. Just following hwy 26 from west to east will take you on a tour from the drier/flatter areas into the steep/wet Palouse.

But harvest is going to be late this year. We are on the drier side of things and typically start harvest not too long after the 4th of July. This year it’s looking like closer to a July 20th start. So the Colfax/Pullman area won’t be harvesting until well into August.
