| Are you seeding wheat? If the answer is yes, then you probably need P in the row with the seed (rather than broadcast), so that means an air-seeder with a separate air-cart.
I don't like the CCS type drills (with a hopper on top of the seeder center frame), because of the impact the changing weight of seed has on the openers. The air-cart is so much better as it COMPLETELY separates that changing seed weight from the toolbar, so the toolbar can be ballasted to do the best job all the time.
Lastly the CCS air-seeders aren't much cheaper than an air-cart, so the air cart is better value for a lot more seed capacity (and more acres per day), plus you can place dry P in the row. | |
