Subject: Double Crop Beans No Moisture

Central IL
Been real dry here for the past few weeks. Wheat will come off around July 1 so was checking the soil moisture a few places with a round nosed shovel. Dug 4 inches deep and not enough moisture to sprout a soybean seed. Seed cost will be about $50.00 per acre. Crop Insurance for DC Beans not available this far north. Plant em in dry dirt and hope for rain? Use em for cover if they don't come up till August? Only been doing wheat/dcbeans for about 8 years and haven't run into this problem. Curious what Southern IL, Missouri, Kansas, and other areas have done when there was no moisture to sprout the DC Beans.
