Well, "cause you know sometimes words have two meanings", I will add tips on what we do for flat hay wagons with back racks/standards. With wooden sills (beams) in the rough size of 5"x11" and the uprights about 3"x6" or whatever size falls off the sawmill, we add a 3/16" or 1/4" flat plate between with a bent over lip that goes under the sill and another lip behind the upright, with the plate extending forward on the sill more than the thickness of the upright and above the sill on the upright side, put two big bolts thru the joint and one more each in the extensions. Angle between is about 90 degrees or a slight lean back away from the floor. The backrack will have four or more cross boards screwed to the uprights with another upright board at the ends. If steel sills might use steel uprights and welded.
I have seen other nice ones that use a square tube socket with a 4x4 post so the backrack can be removed easily.
