I have all barenburg in my improved pasture.   Amazing tonnage.  One year I did lose some, but it was actually spring damage, it came out of dormancy to soon, and then had some really tough cold weather after. 

I believe I was actually giving it to much rest before going into winter.  I have been grazing it a little longer or at least keeping it clipped going into dormancy, has seem to slow it down a little in the spring.
