. | On a pretty regular basis people here have been asking about Dennis in the Ukraine, I assumed because people cared and were concerned. Today he posted pictures of what was his parents house, totally destroyed and requested contributions through Gofundme. He didn't ask anyone to shell out enough money to build the whole house, but small contributions from lots of people goes a long way.
I was pretty surprised and dismayed at how many NAT'ers had such negative comments on this. This house might get bombed again, Ukraine is a corrupt country, the war isn't over yet, etc. etc. Sure the things said might be true, but the individual people over there still need homes and shelter despite the risks. But even if someone isn't inclined to give, the lack of empathy toward a tough situation that was not the individuals fault is sad. | |
