Ron, I checked what the exchange rate was and since 1 euro is 1.05 US dollars, I wasn't too concerned about conversion on a relatively small amount. The amount you donate on gofundme is the Euro amount so if you figure the conversion, you will know exactly what is sent. I know several years ago we had a major truck repair while in Canada. The conversion difference was fairly significant and I was dreading the credit card bill, but the conversion rate was factored to $ and was substantially less than the bill in Canadian $.
I don't have any expectations of what others should or should not donate. I just don't think that making it political or some of the comments made are really appropriate. This post showed the reality of how the war hits the individual families through no fault of their own.
