Mid MO | Some people are aholes and sometimes those aholes are our family.
Case in point, my little brother didn't show up when my son was born. He lived 10 minutes away. It took him 6 months to make an appearance.
Most recently, he told us that he's moving to California to shack up with his girlfriend. I planned a sort of going away party for him. I checked the date with him 6 weeks ahead of time. He decided to go to a work party instead of asking them to pick another day. We had already invited people, so we couldn't change the date. It sucked that he didn't show up. The next time I saw him he was really a jerk to our other brother's 12 yo son. Ya know, I'm glad he's in Cali. We had a great time at his party, fwiw.
I'm sorry she's disappointed but some folks don't really think of others. One Lent I decided to give up aholes. It was freeing, I highly suggest it (: you don't have to swear them off completely, just accept that they can't do any better and go on. | |
