Life is going to be full of ups and also downs. Celebrate the ups, get over the downs. Looks like she has a lot to celebrate. Focus on the ups, not the downs.
We don't get to choose our parents or their attitudes or capabilities as parents. But we do get to control our reactions to and relationship with them. At some point we have to grow up and be our own person, not what someone else expects (or don't expect) us to be.
