Franklinton, LA | My son and his family live in Ocean Springs, MS. If you have a kayak or canoe the scenery along Fort Bayou at Ocean Springs and the swamps north of Pascagoula is really interesting. This would be a good October - May activity. The June - September days are warm and humid. They have a Honey Island Swamp Tour a few miles north of where I10 - I59 meet. The De Soto National Forest is located a few miles north of Biloxi. They have several hundred miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding and ATV riding.
Each October they have the Cruz the Coast Week and several hundred antique cars, trucks and rat rods show up to Cruz the Coast from Waveland to Pascagoula. Yes, they have a web site and you need to make hotel reservations this week if you plan to come down for this.
