West Central Missouri | My research at Oklahoma State with this very system showed that if soil tests showed below 32.5 ppm of P and 125 ppm of K then in season applications of P and K could potentially correct deficiency. Looked at three different application timings of pre plant wheat, top dress wheat, and pre plant soybean. If you have adequate moisture after application, we could maximize double crop soybeans at any of those timings. The idea behind the project was looking at different timings to have the ability to maximize both crops and see how long you could wait to correct deficiency in the wheat crop. If you knew you were planting beans you could front load the wheat with the soybean fertilizer, but if you were not sure about beans, you could still go back at planting and correct soil levels for the beans. | |
