I don't like those type of stabilizers. They add nothing as far as nutrition and are a death blow to microbial life for a period of time. I want those allies working to feed the roots.
I hadn't considered the microbal life
Just thinking ------ putting the mix in a 4" deep band every 30" --doubt if if will be a catastrophic kill of microbal life
Just saying--- but something to consider --thanks for pointing out
