We like grass with alfalfa. I tend to put a little of everything in a mix. Orchard grass is a mainstay. A little endophyte free or endophyte friendly fescue, ryegrass, timothy, improved clover. It makes a heavy first cutting. Later cuttings have less grass, but the alfalfa still grows. Put on at least 20 pounds of alfalfa seed to get higher quality.
