Southern Indiana
I think a good alfalfa orchard grass mix is hard to beat either for your own use or for sale. We tried to raise brome when I was a kid and it's hard to get a stand, and timothy will be there first cutting but wont get much regrowth unless you get a lot of rain. Plus it goes away after a year or two. A mix is much easier to manage and will make excellent feed. I plant about 18# alfalfa and 4 to 5# orchard grass. I've had no luck with the fancy hybrid orchardgrass so I just plant Potomac. Make sure your ph is 6.8 or higher or you will be unhappy. Good luck!
