Probably should have posted here rather than machinery talk. https://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1064691&posts=1&start=1 I have a Delta 28-206 14" bandsaw and it only will resaw about 6" pieces of wood. I really don't want to spend a couple thousand for another bandsaw that will saw 12 to 13 inches of wood. I've seen article that use a 6" riser to increase the distance so you can resaw up to 13" and then use a 105" blade. I know that part of the problem with resawing is the strength of the back so that tensioning the blade becomes more stressful as the blade gets wider. A 1/8" blade requires less tension than a 3/4" blade, but the 3/4" blade is what is used for resawing. Do any of you have experience with installing and using one of these riser kits, is there a shop made one that would work just as well? They appear to be nothing more that 1/2" plate welded top and bottom to a 6" square tube and placed between the top wheel and bottom wheel.
