Northeast Indiana | When spraying 2,4-D and other chemicals compatible with corn, I would just make sure to charge the boom with the new mix and then go and spray. Never saw any issues from the very little 2,4-D that might be left in the system.
Edit: There are some 2,4-D labels that allow for spraying post emergence on corn. While it can be risky and you need to take growth stage into account, a little bit of residue isn't going to hurt anything.
