NW IL | We did an outside pack for the dairy cows when we milked in the old stantion barn and ran out of indoor room.
Basically just like you describe. Bed as needed to keep it dry/clean.
We would haul out early spring, but some years we would wait until late spring if we knew we'd have an open field.
And more than one year the pile sat all summer and didn't get hauled until fall.
And towards the very end I don't think the pile we had in the pasture ever got hauled and now it's a little dirt mound. | |
