I started about 75 asparagus plants as an experiment. The seed was planted in Jiffy plugs and transplanted about two weeks ago. Survival is almost 100 percent but almost every plant shows the original shoot brown and dry while newly emerging shoots are green and appear healthy. Is this normal? I never grew it before.
