MB, Canada | Fair enough, but those same packers also penalized feedlots for those jiggly cattle throughout the pandemic, while they still took the trim and made an extra buck off it. The feedlots just had to take it because they'd put themselves in a tight spot. The difference is that now that feedlots have the upper hand in negotiations, they should try to set themselves up for when they don't again, which seems to be the majority of the cattle cycle. | |
